Common Questions About Our Solar Solutions

We know switching to solar is a big decision. That’s why we’ve answered the most common questions to help you understand our solutions, technology, and benefits with clarity.

What is the difference between on-grid and hybrid solar systems?
  • On-Grid: Connected directly to the utility grid. Excess energy is exported, and electricity is imported when solar is insufficient.

  • Off-Grid: Works independently with battery storage, ideal for remote areas without grid access.

  • Hybrid: Combines both, allowing energy storage in batteries while also remaining connected to the grid for backup and net-metering benefits.

Net metering allows solar system owners to feed excess electricity back into the grid and receive credits on their electricity bills. In Pakistan, NEPRA regulates net metering, and approved systems (usually 3kW and above) can offset bills significantly.

A 5kW system in Pakistan typically produces 20–25 kWh per day, depending on location, weather, and panel orientation. This is sufficient to power an average home with appliances like air conditioners, refrigerators, and lighting.

Yes, but at reduced efficiency. Panels can still generate around 10–25% of their capacity on cloudy days, as they capture diffused sunlight. Hybrid systems with batteries ensure backup during such times.

  • Monocrystalline Panels: High efficiency (18–22%), perform well in limited space.

  • Polycrystalline Panels: Slightly less efficient (15–17%), but cost-effective.

  • Half-cut / Bifacial Panels: Advanced technology, higher yield, better performance in high temperatures.
For Pakistan’s hot climate, monocrystalline and bifacial panels are usually preferred.

Quality solar panels typically last 25+ years with minimal maintenance, making them a long-term investment in clean energy.

  • Lead-Acid Batteries: 3–5 years with regular maintenance.

  • Lithium-Ion Batteries: 8–12 years, higher efficiency, deeper discharge cycles.
Lithium batteries are recommended for long-term reliability despite higher upfront costs.

  • Surge protection devices (SPD)
  • Circuit breakers & fuses
  • Earthing/grounding protection
  • Anti-islanding protection (for grid-connected systems)
  • Fire-resistant cabling and certified mounting structures
